Up-pipes and down-pipes – what do they do?

Up-pipe is a piping that connects the exhaust manifold with the turbo. Exhaust gases enter the turbo from the up-pipe. Down-pipe is a piping that connects the turbo with the rest of the exhaust pipe. Exhaust gases leave the turbo from the down-pipe.

Key Features

  • Eliminates Leaks - Deletes failure-prone OEM flex joint for a permanent seal.
  • Faster Turbo Spool - Improves exhaust flow to reduce lag and increase throttle response.
  • Durable Stainless - Mandrel-bent construction resists heat and corrosion.

Note: If your engine uses "Factory 6.4 Powerstroke", this product is suitable. If your engine uses "Factory 6.0 Powerstroke", then this product is not suitable.

Fitment

FAQ

Q1: How do I know if these 6.4 up pipes fit my truck?
A1: If your truck has a Factory 6.4 Powerstroke exhaust manifold, these up pipes will fit. However, if your truck uses a Factory 6.0 Powerstroke exhaust manifold, these up pipes will not be compatible.

Q2: What is the function of these 6.4 Powerstroke up pipes?
A2: These 6.4 up pipes connect the exhaust manifolds to the turbocharger, allowing for efficient exhaust gas flow to improve turbo performance and overall engine efficiency.

Q3: What is the difference between these 6.4 Powerstroke up pipes and the factory ones?
A3: These up pipes are made from high-quality stainless steel, providing better heat resistance, durability, and reliability compared to stock pipes, which are prone to cracking over time.

Q4: Why should I choose the 6.4 Powerstroke up pipes no EGR option?
A4: The 6.4 Powerstroke up pipes no EGR option eliminates the EGR connection, which can help reduce exhaust restrictions, lower exhaust gas temperatures (EGTs), and improve long-term reliability.

Q5: What are the signs that I need a 6.4 Powerstroke up pipe replacement?
A5: Signs that your 6.4 up pipes need replacement include:

  • Excessive exhaust leaks or soot buildup around the up pipes.
  • Loss of turbo boost pressure, causing reduced engine performance.
  • Whistling or hissing noises from the engine bay.

Q6: How does upgrading to new Ford 6.4 up pipes benefit my truck?
A6: Upgrading your Ford 6.4 up pipes improves exhaust flow, reduces turbo lag, and helps maintain consistent power delivery, especially under heavy loads.

Q7: What installation considerations should I keep in mind?
A7: Installing 6.4 Powerstroke up pipes may require removing other exhaust components. Ensure that all gaskets and bolts are properly tightened to prevent leaks.

Q8: Do I need additional modifications when installing these 6.4 up pipes?
A8: No additional modifications are required if you are using these up pipes with factory-style manifolds and turbochargers.

Q9: Can these 6.4 Powerstroke up pipes be used with aftermarket exhaust systems?
A9: Yes, these up pipes can be used with both stock and aftermarket exhaust systems, as long as the factory-style manifold and turbocharger setup is retained.

Q10: How do I maintain my new Ford 6.4 up pipes?
A10: Regularly inspect for loose connections, leaks, and excessive soot buildup. Periodically check the gaskets and mounting hardware to ensure a secure fit.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a delete tuner?

A delete tuner is a device that reprograms yourtruck's ECM (computer) to turn off emissionssystems like the DPF, EGR, and DEF, allowing yourtruck to run without those components

Can l use a delete tuner withoutphysically removing TheDPF/DEF/EGR parts?

You MUST remove your DPF(Diesel ParticulateFilter), as the filter will clog and stop all exhaust flowwhen shut off. You will no longer need DEF(DieselExhaust Fluid), and you may remove your DEF tankif you wish, or it can sit empty. The EGR may remainas is, but we recommend removing the physicalparts as well.

Is a Delete Tune bad for mytruck's engine?

Quite the opposite. In fact, many customers reportimproved engine life, smoother shifting, and betterfuel economy (typically 3-5 MPG gains) when usinga quality delete tuner.

What's the difference between adelete tuner and a delete tune?

The tuner is the hardware device. The tune is thesoftware file that gets uploaded to your truck's ECM.Your delete tuner includes a delete tune when youpurchase from us.

Do delete tuners void my warranty?

Yes. Any emissions-related modification, includingtuning, can void the manufacturer's warranty. Manycustomers wait until after their warranty expiresbefore deleting.

Do l need a mechanic to install thetuner? How long does installationtake?

Not necessarily. Many of our customers install their delete tuner themselves in under 30 minutes. We include easy-to-follow instructions, and our support team is available if you need help.

Will my truck pass inspection oremissions testing with a deletetuner?

No. Delete tuners disable emissions systems, so your truck will not pass emissions tests in areas where they're required. Some states have exemptions (e.g. heavy-duty or rural-use trucks).

Can l go back to stock afterinstalling a delete tuner?

Yes. However, in most cases you will have to have the ECM flashed at the dealership. If this is a concern, contact our team and we can explain further.

Is the delete tune VlN-locked?

Yes. All delete tunes are VIN specific and will only work on one truck. The tuner (hardware device), may be used on multiple vehicles for diagnostic or monitoring purposes where applicable.

What support do l get with my tuner?

We offer lifetime customer support, step-by-step install guides, and remote help from our tuning team. You're never left hanging, even after the sale.
