FAQs
Q: Why upgrade to head studs instead of using factory bolts?
A: Head studs offer superior clamping force, better sealing, and reduce the risk of head gasket failure under high boost or heavy load conditions.
Q: Will this kit fit all Dodge Ram 5.9L Diesel 12-Valve engines?
A: This kit is designed specifically for 1989–1998 12-valve 5.9L Diesel engines.
Q: Can these studs handle high horsepower or turbo applications?
A: Yes. With a 220K PSI tensile strength, they are ideal for turbocharged, supercharged, or high-performance diesel builds.
Q: Do I need to modify my engine to install this kit?
A: No machining is required, but proper torque procedure and rocker pedestal modifications may be necessary due to the shorter rocker pedestal bolts included.
Q: What happens if I don’t use high-strength studs?
A: Using weaker bolts in high-pressure engines can result in head lift, blown gaskets, and potential engine damage.
Q: Are nuts, washers, and lubricant included?
A: Yes, this kit comes complete with all necessary hardware and assembly lubricant for proper installation.
Q: Can these studs be reused in future rebuilds?
A: Yes, provided they are inspected and show no signs of wear, damage, or stretching.
Q: Do these improve reliability for daily driving?
A: Absolutely. Even for stock engines, head studs improve head sealing and reduce long-term maintenance needs.
Q: Is installation difficult?
A: Installation requires following proper torque sequence and values. Professional installation is recommended for best results.
Q: Will these affect my engine’s cold-start or drivability?
A: No. These studs do not affect engine operation—they simply provide superior head sealing under all conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a delete tuner?
A delete tuner is a device that reprograms yourtruck's ECM (computer) to turn off emissionssystems like the DPF, EGR, and DEF, allowing yourtruck to run without those components
Can l use a delete tuner withoutphysically removing TheDPF/DEF/EGR parts?
You MUST remove your DPF(Diesel ParticulateFilter), as the filter will clog and stop all exhaust flowwhen shut off. You will no longer need DEF(DieselExhaust Fluid), and you may remove your DEF tankif you wish, or it can sit empty. The EGR may remainas is, but we recommend removing the physicalparts as well.
Is a Delete Tune bad for mytruck's engine?
Quite the opposite. In fact, many customers reportimproved engine life, smoother shifting, and betterfuel economy (typically 3-5 MPG gains) when usinga quality delete tuner.
What's the difference between adelete tuner and a delete tune?
The tuner is the hardware device. The tune is thesoftware file that gets uploaded to your truck's ECM.Your delete tuner includes a delete tune when youpurchase from us.
Do delete tuners void my warranty?
Yes. Any emissions-related modification, includingtuning, can void the manufacturer's warranty. Manycustomers wait until after their warranty expiresbefore deleting.
Do l need a mechanic to install thetuner? How long does installationtake?
Not necessarily. Many of our customers install their delete tuner themselves in under 30 minutes. We include easy-to-follow instructions, and our support team is available if you need help.
Will my truck pass inspection oremissions testing with a deletetuner?
No. Delete tuners disable emissions systems, so your truck will not pass emissions tests in areas where they're required. Some states have exemptions (e.g. heavy-duty or rural-use trucks).
Can l go back to stock afterinstalling a delete tuner?
Yes. However, in most cases you will have to have the ECM flashed at the dealership. If this is a concern, contact our team and we can explain further.
Is the delete tune VlN-locked?
Yes. All delete tunes are VIN specific and will only work on one truck. The tuner (hardware device), may be used on multiple vehicles for diagnostic or monitoring purposes where applicable.
What support do l get with my tuner?
We offer lifetime customer support, step-by-step install guides, and remote help from our tuning team. You're never left hanging, even after the sale.
