PHASE 1: DISASSEMBLY & CLEARANCE

Step 1: Shielding & Induction Prep

  1. Connector Isolation: Disconnect the electrical harness from the throttle valve. Remove the heat shield mounting hardware using the appropriate wrench or socket.

  2. CAC Separation: Loosen the T-bolt clamp on the cold-side intercooler pipe. Carefully separate the rubber boot (coupler) from the throttle valve inlet to create workspace.

Step 2: Factory Valve Extraction

  1. Remove the four (4) 8mm mounting bolts securing the throttle valve to the intake elbow.

  2. Tech Tip: Note that two of the mounting bolts are located on the underside of the valve and may be obstructed from view. Ensure all hardware is removed before attempting to pull the valve to avoid damaging the intake manifold flange.


PHASE 3: COMPONENT INSTALLATION

Step 3: High-Flow Pipe Integration

  1. Mounting: Position the new Throttle Delete Pipe against the intake flange. Secure it using the four (4) hexagonal bolts and flat washers provided in the installation kit.

    • Note: Ensure the mounting surface is clean and the gasket or O-ring is seated perfectly to prevent boost leaks.

  2. Induction Reassembly: Slide the intercooler boot back onto the new delete pipe. Re-tighten the T-bolt clamps securely to ensure a pressure-tight seal.

Step 4: Final Securing & Weatherproofing

  1. Restoration: Reinstall the factory heat shield and secure all associated connectors.

  2. Harness Management: Since the factory throttle valve connector is no longer in use, secure the unused harness to a nearby bracket using zip ties.

    • Pro Tip: Use electrical tape or a dummy plug to seal the unused connector to prevent moisture and debris from entering the pins.


PHASE 5: TESTING & AUDIT

Step 5: Commissioning

  1. Start the engine and check for any "hissing" sounds that may indicate a boost leak at the intake flange or intercooler boot.

  2. Electronic Sync: Ensure your vehicle’s tuning software has been updated to accommodate the removal of the throttle valve to prevent "Limp Mode" or Check Engine Lights (CEL).


POST-INSTALLATION ADVISORY

  • ECM Tuning: This hardware modification requires a compatible Race Tune (e.g., EZ LYNK, EFI Live) to disable the throttle valve logic in the engine control module.

  • Maintenance: Re-check the torque on the four mounting bolts and the intercooler clamps after the first 100 miles of high-boost driving.
