PHASE 1: DISASSEMBLY & PREPARATION
Step 1: CAC Tube Removal
-
Intake Protection: Remove the Charge Air Cooler (CAC) intake pipe.
-
Caution: Ensure the turbocharger inlet remains covered. Even microscopic debris can cause catastrophic damage to the compressor blades.
-
-
Connector Release: Pull the spring clip until it seats in the quick-connect release pawl. Release the clamp and extract the CAC intake pipe.
Step 2: Fuel System Clearance
-
Disconnect and remove the fuel filter outlet tube.
-
Disconnect the fuel filter inlet tube and the injector return tube.
-
Remove and discard the factory left-side fuel supply tube bolts (new hardware is typically recommended for reassembly).
Step 3: CCV Oil Separator Extraction
-
Hose Disconnection: Release the retaining clip on the oil separator outlet hose. Disconnect the hose from the lower intake manifold.
-
Tech Tip: Use a lint-free shop towel to catch any residual oil drainage from the separator.
-
-
Separator Removal: Remove the mounting bolts and lift the factory CCV oil separator from the engine.
PHASE 2: COMPONENT INSTALLATION
Step 4: Installing the New Billet Unit
-
Surface Prep: Thoroughly clean all old oil residue from the breather port at the rear of the engine.
-
Mounting: Position the new unit onto the breather port.
-
Torque Spec: Install the two mounting bolts and torque them evenly to 96 lb-in (11 Nm). Do not overtighten.
Step 5: Intake Port Sealing
-
Remove the factory ventilation hose.
-
Install the provided block-off cap onto the intake inlet port.
-
Security: While this port is not subject to high pressure, use the provided clamp to ensure a permanent, vibration-proof seal.
PHASE 3: REASSEMBLY & SYSTEM PRIMING
Step 6: Fuel Bracket & Pump Integration
-
Reinstall the fuel filter and bracket assembly; tighten all mounting bolts to factory specifications.
-
Install the new fuel injection pump supply tube assembly bracket. Install and torque the new left-side fuel supply tube bolts.
Step 7: Final Plumbing & Calibration
-
Reconnect the fuel filter injector return tube and the inlet tube.
-
Reinstall the fuel filter outlet tube and the CAC intake pipe.
-
System Audit: Perform a final inspection of the turbocharger and air intake components for cleanliness and secure fitment.
-
Startup Prep: Reconnect the batteries. Important: You must bleed the fuel system according to OEM procedures before attempting to start the engine to prevent air-lock in the high-pressure pump.
POST-INSTALLATION ADVISORY
-
Fuel Priming: Cycle the ignition to the "On" position (without cranking) multiple times to allow the lift pump to prime the system.
-
Leak Check: Start the engine and inspect all fuel and ventilation connections for leaks after the first heat cycle.
