PHASE 1: DISASSEMBLY & REMOVAL

Step 1: Sensors and Component Extraction

  1. Carefully disconnect all EGT sensors, pressure sensors, and DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) injector harnesses from the downpipe, SCR, and DPF units.

  2. Remove the bolts from the flange connections joining the Downpipe to the DPF and the SCR to the DPF.

  3. Loosen the clamp at the rear exit of the exhaust tailpipe. Completely remove the DPF and SCR units from the vehicle chassis.


PHASE 2: COMPONENT INSTALLATION

Step 2: Downpipe and Pipe #1 Integration Align the flange to the outlet of the downpipe. Loosely tighten the bolts to allow for movement during alignment. Install Pipe #1 and insert the integrated hanger into the factory OEM rubber isolator.

Step 3: Pipe #2 Alignment and Clearance Prior to connection, ensure all necessary pipe clamps are placed over the tubing. Install Pipe #2 onto the end of Pipe #1 and lead it into the inlet of the main exhaust assembly.

  • CRITICAL: Ensure the inner bend of the pipe is oriented toward the truck frame to maintain proper clearance.

Step 4: Hanger and Bracket Securement Install the #3 hardware/hangers into the corresponding dual-hanger positions located on the SCR mounting bracket.


PHASE 3: FINAL CALIBRATION & TORQUE

Step 5: System Adjustment and Tightening The exhaust system should be installed with moderate tension. Adjust the positioning of the new pipes to ensure they meet all clearance requirements and aesthetic standards.

  1. Starting from the front flange connection, tighten all hardware and clamps evenly.

  2. Work your way toward the rear of the vehicle, ensuring each connection is fully secured.


POST-INSTALLATION ADVISORY

  • ECM Tuning: Installation of this kit typically requires a compatible ECM Calibration (Tune) to account for the removal of factory emissions components.

  • Thermal Check: After the first heat cycle (initial drive), it is highly recommended to re-torque all clamps to account for material expansion and settling.
