PHASE 1: DISASSEMBLY & REMOVAL

Step 1: Electrical & Sensor Disconnection

  1. Carefully disconnect all EGT sensors, pressure sensors, and DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) injector harnesses from the factory downpipe, SCR, and DPF units.

  2. Unscrew the two primary flange connections and loosen the clamp at the rear tailpipe section. Remove the SCR and DPF units from the chassis, then remove the factory tailpipe.

  3. At the turbocharger, loosen the V-band clamp bolt and remove the clamp securing the factory downpipe.

Step 2: Hardware Preservation Using a flat-head screwdriver, pry the clips from the three flange positions. Disconnect the cooling lines and retain the factory clips; these are high-grade components that must be reused during the reassembly process.


PHASE 2: COMPONENT INSTALLATION

Step 3: Downpipe Setup

  1. Pre-Clamping: Before installing any tubing, ensure that pipe clamps are pre-positioned over all connection joints.

  2. Downpipe #1 Installation: Secure the new downpipe using the original factory V-band clamp.

    • Tech Note: Snug the clamp down enough to support the pipe's weight, but leave sufficient play to allow for alignment adjustments later in the process.

Step 4: Intermediate Pipe Integration Install Pipe #2 by inserting the integrated metal hangers into the factory OEM rubber insulators.

  • Important: Factory sensors and auxiliary lines do not need to be reinstalled into this racing exhaust system. Please refer to your electronic calibrator/tuner instructions for harness management.

Step 5: Wheelbase Adaptation (Extension Pipes) Depending on your vehicle’s cab and bed configuration, install the required extension tube:

  • MegaCab / Short Bed (SB) Models: Requires #4-1 Extension Pipe.

  • CrewCab / Long Bed (LB) Models: Requires #4 Extension Pipe.

Step 6: Muffler Delete & Tailpipe Assembly

  1. Install the #3 Muffler Delete Pipe.

  2. Proceed to install the #5 Over-Axle Pipe and the #6 Tailpipe.

  3. Secure all hangers into the OEM rubber isolators simultaneously.

    • Note: On specific models, you may need to migrate two factory rubber insulators from the stock exhaust to the metal hangers located on the truck’s cross-beam forward of the rear axle.


PHASE 3: FINAL ALIGNMENT & TORQUE

Step 7: System Calibration & Securing Adjust the entire 5" exhaust system to ensure proper chassis clearance and an aesthetically level fit. The system should be installed with moderate tension to prevent vibration while allowing for thermal expansion.

  1. Torque Sequence: Working from the front turbo flange toward the rear, tighten all connections and clamps evenly.

  2. Ensure no part of the exhaust is in direct contact with the frame or suspension components.


POST-INSTALLATION ADVISORY

  • ECM Tuning: This hardware modification requires a compatible Electronic Calibration (Race Tune) to disable the factory emissions logic. Failure to update the software will cause the vehicle to enter "Limp Mode."

  • Maintenance: It is highly recommended to re-torque all clamps after the first 50–100 miles of driving to account for material settling.
