PHASE 1: DISASSEMBLY & REMOVAL

Step 1: Sensor & Electrical Isolation Begin by removing the six (6) factory sensors from the exhaust stream. Disconnect all associated electrical harnesses and secure them safely away from the working area to prevent damage during component removal.

Step 2: Exhaust Assembly Detachment Starting from the rear of the vehicle, loosen the clamp securing the tailpipe assembly to the DPF. Detach the assembly from the frame-mounted rubber isolators.

  • Pro Tip: Apply a silicone-based lubricant to the hangers to facilitate easier removal from the rubber isolators.

Step 3: Flange & Bracket Removal Using the appropriate wrench, remove the four (4) nuts securing the rear and front after-treatment units. To simplify the removal of the front section, you may also remove the factory hanger bracket located on the crossbeam next to the flange.

  • Caution: These factory components are heavy; ensure the use of a jack or an assistant to support the weight during disassembly.

Step 4: DPF Inlet Disconnection Loosen the nut on the V-band clamp at the junction between the downpipe and the DPF inlet. Remove the clamp and extract the entire DPF section from the vehicle.

  • Important: Retain the factory V-band gasket; it must be reused for the new installation.


PHASE 2: COMPONENT INSTALLATION

Step 5: Front Pipe Installation Slide the #1 Front Pipe over the two chassis crossbeams. Connect it to the factory downpipe using the original V-band clamp and gasket. Ensure the hanger is properly seated in the rubber isolator.

  • Note: Keep the clamp loosely secured at this stage to allow for alignment adjustments.

Step 6: Extension Pipe Measurement & Trimming Connect the #3 Rear Pipe to the existing exhaust tailpipe. Place the #2 Extension Pipe between Pipe #1 and Pipe #3 to measure the required length.

  • Calculation: When measuring, ensure you account for the necessary overlap at both slip-joint ends. This measured value will be your precise trim length for the #2 Extension Pipe.


PHASE 3: FINAL ALIGNMENT & TORQUE

Step 7: System Calibration & Securing Once the trimmed extension pipe is in position, perform a comprehensive visual check to ensure the entire exhaust system is properly aligned and clear of the chassis/suspension.

  1. Starting from the front downpipe connection and moving gradually toward the rear, tighten all pipe clamps and hardware.

  2. Ensure even pressure is applied to all clamps to prevent exhaust leaks.


POST-INSTALLATION ADVISORY

  • ECM Tuning: This hardware modification requires a compatible Electronic Calibration (Race Tune) to disable the factory emissions logic. Failure to update the software will result in "Limp Mode" and Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).

  • Re-Torque: It is highly recommended to inspect and re-torque all clamps after the first 50–100 miles to account for thermal expansion and material settling.
