Mini Maxx V2 Technical Troubleshooting & Fitment Guide
If you encounter errors or performance issues with your Mini Maxx V2, locate your truck’s year and model below for the official solution.
⚠️ Universal Requirement (All Vehicles)
- Factory Pyrometer/EGT Probes: The Mini Maxx V2 does not support factory EGT sensors. You must unplug all factory probes during installation.
- Monitoring Tip: If you require real-time EGT monitoring, you must add an external docking station to your Mini Maxx unit.
RAM / Cummins Solutions
2013–2021 RAM 6.7L
- Issue: Boost pressure dropping off and capping at 20 PSI.
- Solution (2013–2018): A BETA fix is included in the latest update. This provides a temporary solution (valid for 300–500 miles).
- Solution (2019–2021): We are currently developing a permanent fix for these model years. If you experience this, ensure you are running the most recent firmware available.
2014–2015 RAM 6.7L
- Issue: Reports of engine "loping" or "surging" at idle or low speeds.
- Solution: Update your device to Firmware Version 2.0.0.4 or higher to resolve these calibration conflicts.
2018+ RAM 6.7L
- Error: "Part number not currently supported."
- The Cause: This tuner supports PCMs with part numbers starting with a Number. If your PCM part number starts with a Letter, the tuner may be incompatible.
- Action: Run the latest update first. If the error persists, contact technical support or your authorized retailer for a return/exchange.
Ford Powerstroke Solutions
2011–2019 Powerstroke (General)
- Codes P24C6 or P24DA: These are PMS codes caused by older software versions. Fixed as of October 2023. If these codes appear, simply update your device.
- SOTF (Shift-on-the-Fly): Approximately 7% of 2011–2019 Fords have PCM software that is incompatible with our SOTF strategy. In these rare cases, power modes will not change on the fly.
2016 Powerstroke
- Code P04E3: Caused by a missing PCV sensor that the MMV2 looks for by default.
- The Fix: Download the specific fix file, extract it, and copy the MGGDT.IT1 file into the "FORD" folder on your SD card. Update the firmware and reinstall the tune. (Only perform this if your truck displays this specific code).
2017–2019 Powerstroke
- Issue: Boost drop-off and significant loss of power.
- The Fix: This is caused by interference from the factory EGT sensor. Unplug the EGT sensor and clear the codes. The truck will return to full power (EGT readout will be disabled).
- ⚠️ WARNING: The Throttle Position Gauge is non-functional on these years. Do not use this gauge for monitoring.
GM Duramax LML Solutions
2011+ Duramax LML
- Cab & Chassis Warning: This tuner does not support dual fuel tanks. Installing this on a Cab & Chassis truck will disable the rear tank. Installation is not advised for dual-tank configurations.
- Gauge Limitations: The Boost Gauge will not function on this platform.
- Feature Restrictions: You cannot adjust Tire Size or modify the Speed Limiter on the LML platform with this unit.

Mini Maxx V2: Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: What does the Mini Maxx V2 actually do?
The Mini Maxx V2 is a high-performance calibration tool that increases horsepower and torque while optimizing fuel maps. It allows you to digitally "delete" the following systems:
- DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter): Removes the filter and disables all related exhaust sensors.
- EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation): Disables the EGR function. You can run with the system installed or with a full block-off kit to eliminate coolant leaks permanently.
- DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid): Completely shuts off the urea injection system, allowing you to remove the DEF tank and sensors to shed weight and avoid sensor failures.
Q2: Is it legal to run a Mini Maxx Tuner?
In the United States, these race tunes are designed for OFF-ROAD / COMPETITION USE ONLY. They are not intended for vehicles operated on public highways. Always verify your local state and federal emissions regulations before installation.
Q3: Can I run High-Sulfur Diesel?
Yes. Once the Mini Maxx V2 is installed and emissions systems are removed, ULSD (Ultra-Low Sulfur Diesel) is no longer a requirement. This is a major benefit for drivers in regions where ULSD is difficult to source.
Q4: How does it help with reliability?
By eliminating the EGR, you stop hot soot from entering your intake. By deleting the DPF, you stop the backpressure that kills turbos. The result is a more capable, economical, and longer-lasting vehicle.
