Upgrade your 2001–2007 Chevrolet Silverado or GMC Sierra 2500HD/3500HD with this 5-inch downpipe-back exhaust system for the 6.6L Duramax LB7, LLY, and LBZ engines.

Constructed from T409 stainless steel, the system uses mandrel-bent 5-inch tubing to create a larger exhaust path and a deeper diesel exhaust tone. It connects downstream of the factory turbo downpipe and is available with or without a muffler.

This is a pre-DPF Duramax exhaust system and should not be classified as a DPF delete pipe. It does not fit Cab & Chassis trucks, and some shorter wheelbase configurations may require pipe trimming during installation.

Key Features

5-Inch Exhaust Tubing:
Provides a larger exhaust path and a deeper overall exhaust tone than smaller-diameter systems.

Downpipe-Back Design:
Connects downstream of the factory turbo downpipe and replaces the exhaust system toward the rear of the truck.

Muffler and Non-Muffler Options:
Choose the non-muffler configuration for a louder, more aggressive sound or the muffler-equipped version for more controlled volume.

T409 Stainless Steel Construction:
Designed to withstand high exhaust temperatures, road exposure, and demanding diesel truck use.

Mandrel-Bent Pipe Sections:
Smooth bends help maintain a consistent internal diameter throughout the exhaust path.

Heavy-Duty Construction:
Approximately 2 mm pipe walls provide added strength and structural durability.

Designed for Freer Exhaust Flow:
The larger pipe diameter and smooth bends are designed to reduce restrictive exhaust flow. Actual results vary by vehicle condition and configuration.

Available Options

Option Pipe Size Muffler
5" Downpipe-Back 5 inch No
5" Downpipe-Back w/Muffler 5 inch Yes

The non-muffler option produces a louder and more direct exhaust note.

The muffler-equipped option retains the deep 5-inch tone while helping reduce overall volume, making it a more practical choice for daily driving, towing, and longer highway trips.

Actual sound varies based on cab style, bed length, engine condition, and other vehicle modifications.

Installation Notes

This system connects downstream of the factory turbo downpipe. It does not replace the turbo downpipe itself.

Some shorter cab, bed, or wheelbase configurations may require cutting or trimming an intermediate pipe. Test-fit and align the complete exhaust system before cutting or fully tightening the clamps.

Installation time varies depending on vehicle condition, corrosion, wheelbase, available tools, and installer experience. The product information does not confirm whether welding is required or whether any factory hardware must be reused.

After installation, check clearance around the frame, suspension, spare tire, brake lines, wiring, and body. Recheck and retighten all clamps after the first complete exhaust heat cycle.

Professional installation is recommended.
